Printing Details

Undated [1933]. First French edition, hardback quarter cloth with paper covered boards. 28 × 20.5cm, 31pp.

A delightful French alphabet book for children, each letter with a full page colour illustration by Marie-Madeleine Franc-Nohain and one line of text in French (eg Hector regarde l'heure a l'horloge, or Isabelle aime les images). The author (1878–1942) was a prolific illustrator of childrens' books, and was married to French librettist Franc-Nohain.

Very good condition for a childrens book. The boards' edges are rubbed and scuffed and the pages are age-toned throughout but the book is in sound condition with all pages present and free from inscription.
