The Small-Holder's Handbook
1912, bee-keeping, breeding stock, arable and grass etc etc
First edition, first printing hardback bound in maroon boards with gilt titling to spine and upper board. 20 × 13cm, 252pp.
A thorough illustrated guide to small-holdings, subtitled, "a guide to the management of small farms and allotments, with detailed advice on the practical side of breeding all kinds of stock; dairying; cultivating arable and grass land; bee-keeping; market gardening, etc." The book has 12 pages of adverts for farming equipment etc to the beginning.
A good copy. The pages are clean and the binding secure. The boards are a little rubbed and have a few small white spots. There is some tanning to the page edges and a few small waterstains to the endpapers. Otherwise, the book is in strong readable condition.
