A study of Algeria by Baron Baude, a French administrator and politician. Volume 2 covers some historical aspects such as the Spanish occupation of Oran, and expedition of Constantine, as well as the agriculture of Algeria. Volume 3 covers commerce, European population, political emigrants, Muslims, the African army, finances etc, and tipped in at the rear is a fold out map.

The bindings are quite rubbed but secure, the marbled paper is chipped to the edges and there is some scuffing to the leather. The contents are in good plus condition. Both volumes have some intermittent foxing throughout, but the binding are secure. There is some surface wear to the hinges but these are also secure. The map has a few small holes along the joints and is foxed but remains in good order.
