The Gipsy Ballads
An unknown and unpublished translation
Spiral bound with red card covers. 29.5 × 21cm, unpaginated. English text.
An unknown recent (last 30 years) translation of Lorca's Gipsy Ballads. Lorca's poems (in Spanish Romancero gitano) were written in 1928 and consists of eighteen romances with subjects like the night, death, the sky, and the moon. All of the poems deal with the Romani people and their culture, used by Lorca as a theme used to carry the larger message that the poet was trying to convey.
Good overall condition, with some light fading to the covers and corner creasing.
