Novum Testamentum Domini nostri Jesu Christi
1714, an early 18th century edition of Beza's Latin New Testament
Early edition, hardback, full leather with four raised bands to the spine. 15 × 8.5cm, 346pp. Latin text.
An early printing of Theodore Beza's Latin translation of the New Testament, from Matthew to Apocalypse. Printed in small text in double columns.
The leather is rubbed to the edges and joints, and the book has some comprehensive foxing but this remains in good condition for an early 18th century Beza Testament. The inner binding is secure but the ffep has marginal loss. Previous owner's signature to the front pastedown (G P Haydon, Emmanuel College, Cambridge).
