The fifth volume of the seven volume history of the South African War, published under the editorship of L S Amery. This volume covers from August 1900 and the "awakening in the Free State" to the peace of 1902. The book is illustrated with 9 pages of photogravure portraits, three fold out maps in pockets to the front and rear pastedown and numerous fold-out maps and plans throughout the book.
The red cloth is faded to the spine and the covers marked but the contents are in good condition (some pages uncut). All plates and maps are present.
