Humbert Wolfe's autobiography of his childhood in Bradford
First edition, first impression. Hardback in dustwrapper. 19.5 × 12.5cm, 202pp.
"In this intimate study of childhood Humbert Wolfe presents a vividly-coloured picture of a certain aspect of Bradford (West Yorkshire) life forty years ago, and from his detached viewpoint describes the early friendships, the first days at school, the indeterminate yearnings of a little boy who by nature and circumstances is set apart from his fellows yet passionately determines to be one of them"
The book itself is in very good condition with a little fading to the burgundy cloth binding. Neat previous owner's name to ffep. The dustwrapper has a small area of loss at the head of the spine and is rather tanned but is now within a protective sleeve.
