This is a rare first edition of Irish poet and lyricist Joseph Campbell's wanderings around Donegal, beautifully illustrated with 16 full-page drawings. The text and draawings were taken from his note book.

Joseph Campbell (1879–1944) wrote under the Gaelic form of his name Seosamh Mac Cathmhaoil. He took part in the Easter Rising of 1916, becoming a Sinn Féin Councillor in Wicklow in 1921.

This copy is in very good condition for age. As mentioned, the book has been rebound in plain green cloth, and there is a little fraying to the boards' fore-edge. There is tanning and light foxing to the pastedowns and endpapers but the main body of text and illustrations are in very good order with just a little finger marking and occasional spot of tanning. Previous owner's nameplate to ffep.
