A delightful Victorian book on marine life with 117 illustrations, covering marine fishes , flat fishes, crabs and lobsters, molluscs, star-fishes, sea-urchins, sea-cucumbers, polyps and jelly-fishes. The text in this book is take from an earlier Georg Hartwig title, "The Sea and its Living Wonders" which was published in 1860.
This copy is in sound condition. The binding is secure and the pages clean. The leather has some surface abrasion and darkening but is in good order. School prize label to the front pastedown.
