From the preface "I have sought int his book to ascertain and set forth the principles upon which folklore may be classified, in order to arrive at some of the results which should follow from its study." Chapters include 1. Survival and Development, 2. Ethnic Elements in Custom and Ritual, 3. The Mythic Influence of a Conquered Race, 4. The Localisation of Primitive Belief, 5. The Ethnic Genealogy of Folklore, 6. The Continuation of Races.
A good reading copy. The cloth binding is quite heavily rubbed with some damage to the head of the spine. There is a lean to the spine but the contents are in good, readable condition.
