Oxford Gardens traces the history of gardens and landscapes in and around the university showing how, from century to century, succeeding aesthetic and philosophic movements were reflected in the landscaping of the colleges and their grounds. During the Second World War, the author was one of the leading codebreakers at Bletchley Park, breaking the Enigma ciphers that led to the Royal Navy's victory over Italy at Matapan in 1941 and to the success of the D-day landings in 1944.
A good copy. The book has been read and there is fading to the spine but is essentially in sound condition.
