A collection of poems from Elsie Haydon Carrier (sometimes Else H Carrier), the opening one of which is a Great War poem in remembrance of the Unknown Warrior (But when at last the War had passed / They found him in his lowly grave; / Round his chill form the Flag they cast / And bore him home across the wave!). This is followed by other poems much in the style of the age but not of the war... The poet was also a crime writer and historian.

Condition

A good copy. There is foxing to the pages but it remains very readable and some finger-marking to the covers.
