First edition, hardback, bound in the original green / blue cloth with gilt titling and to spine and upper board. 19.5 × 12.5cm, xv + 320pp
English folklorist Marion Roalfe Cox's introduction to folk-lore. Chapter headings: 1. Introductory, 2. The Separable Soul, 3. Animal Ancestors, 4. Animism—Ghosts and Gods, 5. The Other World, 6. Magic, and 7. Myths, Folk-Tales etc. This is followed by a select bibliography.
A good reading copy. The cloth is rubbed and faded to the spine and corners, there is a slight lean to the book. There are also marginal pencil annotations but the book remains perfectly readable.
