This copy comes from the library of Fleur Cowles, the American writer, artist and founder of Flair magazine, and has been signed by John Gunther, "For Tom—My favourite town and county landlord—from the slow-driving author with all best regards as always, John Gunther, Aug 1958". Tom was Fleur Cowles' fourth husband, Tom Montague Meyer. Fleur Cowles' library plate by Sotherans is also pasted in.

John Gunther's informal study of post-Stalin Russia, its accessibility, attractions, government and politics, culture, society, foreign relations, and current trends in many of these areas, and is based on the author's trips to Russia.


This copy is in very good condition, with just a little wear to the base of the spine.
