Spitfires over Malta
First edition, illustrated by Stuart Tresilian
First edition, first printing hardback in dustwrapper. 19.5 × 13.5cm, 183pp.
From the dustwrapper, "The epic story of the beleaguered Malta garrison is the background of this exciting book. Hungry, exhausted, short of ammunition, and above all, of fighter planes, Malta begs for Spitfires. Britain, still fighting alone and hard-pressed, makes the necessary sacrifice. And one morning, as the Nazi and Italian bombers mass for a knock-out blow, a crack squadron of British spitfires dives out and scatters the whole Kesselring circus."
The book is in decent condition but has patches of fading at the head and tail of the spine. The page are clean and the binding secure. The dustwrapper suffers loss at the bass of the spine and less so to the head of the spine, and has some wear to all edges. It has been price-clipped and is now within a protective sleeve.
