Printing Details

Pocket Bible, hardback bound in the original embossed black cloth with gilt titling to spine. 12 × 7cm, unpaginated.

There are family inscriptions to the front pastedown and ffep, the first is of chief interest as it was given to Louisa Terry of Dungeness Lighthouse in November 1844. Brief research shows that in 1841 the lighthouse keeper was a William James Terry and his wife, Hannah, so this is presumably his daughter.

Contains the Old and New Testaments, from Genesis to Revelation, printed in double columns and includes the Psalms.

The boards are rubbed to the corners and joints and there is some tanning to the pages as to be expected but otherwise this copy is in solid condition.
