The Lewis Carroll Handbook
Lewis Carroll scholar Morton N Cohen's copy
First edition, hardback in dustwrapper. 22 × 14cm, xv + 307pp.
This copy belonged to Professor Morton N Cohen, the Lewis Carroll biographer and scholar, with his stamp to the ffep and a very few annotations to the margins. Morton Cohen worked with Roger Lancelyn Green on the definitive two-volume Letters of Lewis Carroll.
This is the first revised edition of the 1931 first printing of the handbook of the literature of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, with bibliographical details of all his editions and works, including Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking-Glass and Jabberwocky etc, as well as his memoirs, reminiscences, memorials, bibliographies etc.
A good working copy with a nice provenance. The dustwrapper has been trimmed at the flaps and pasted to the boards and there is some light foxing and tanning to the page edges but the main body of text is in good condition.
