Printing Details

Fifteenth printing hardback in an earlier dustwrapper (judging by the author's listed works, this would seem to be about 1940). 19 × 12.5cm, 320pp

The story of impoverished, embarrassment-prone Archibald "Archie" Moffam (pronounced "Moom") and his difficult relationship with his art-collecting, hotel-owning, millionaire father-in-law Daniel Brewster, who is the father of Archie's new bride Lucille. Archie's attempts to ingratiate himself with Brewster only get him further into trouble. The story takes place in New York City.

The book is ex-library with discard marks and labels to front pastedown, ffep, a small stamp to the copyright page and a small stamp to the last page of text. It is also blindstamped by the library to the upper board. However, despite all this, it remains in good condition, some tanning and marking to the page edges. The dustwrapper is the earlier one with a white background. It has some edgewear and is tanned with a water stain to the spine but is now within a protective sleeve.
