Jottings of Kent
1871; a reference copy
Third edition, hardback in illustrated paper covered boards. 17.5 × 10.5cm, 176pp.
Full title: Jottings of Kent, being a Series of Historical, Ecclesiastical, Topographical and Statistical Sketches
William miller's ramble round Kent, considering the history and architecture as he goes. Includes Canterbury, Thanet, Gravesend, Sheppey, Tunbridge, Walmer and so on... This copy was owned by a Jospeh Doust of Woolston, Overcliffe, Gravesend and he has signed the book twice.
Poor, a reference copy only. The covers are heavily bumped and creased, the joints loose and the bottom 8cm of the backstrip missing. Contents okay but binding starting to loosen, occasional pencil annotation referencing the different material between editions.
