Captain Marryat's novel follows the adventures of the Seagrave family who are shipwrecked at sea, and survive on a desert island with the assistance of veteran sailor Masterman Ready. Each book is illustrated with a frontispiece and chapter headings.
A good readable set. The cloth to each volume is bumped to the corners, a little rubbed but in generally good order. The inner bindings are secure though pulled a little in volumes one and two. The pages clean, though the endpapers in volume 2 are a little grubby.
