Instruction Book for the Guidance of the Metropolitan Police Force
1934, with manuscript edits to changes in the law etc
Hardback, bound in a black folder with faded titling to upper board. 21.5 × 15.5cm, 398pp.
A comprehensive guide for the Metropolitan Police covering everything from ranks and functions to service regulations, from the Criminal Investigation Department to Special Duties, and from Traffic to Prisoners, with much more in between. This copy has been signed by a previous owner (D I Pallister, though whether those are his initials or rank, I don't know...) and he has annotated the book throughout with updates to the law and regulations.
The pages are slightly tanned but in generally good order (taking into account the annotations). The binding is strong, the covers clean. Quite a rare item.
