Death at Broadcasting House
A Golden Age crime set at the BBC's headquarters
Early reprint, hardback bound in the original orange cloth with printed titling to spine. 18.5 × 12cm, 223pp
A crime thriller set in the (then) mysterious world of radio from the (then) new Broadcasting House in London. It was originally a screenplay before being novelised by the authors Val Gielgud (John's brother) and Holt Marvell (pseud Eric Maschwitz, a BBC film writer). It was filmed in 1934 with Val Gielgud, Jack Hawkins and Donald Wolfitt.
Fair. This is really only a reading copy as the cloth binding is marked, rubbed and bumped. However, the contents are in good order.
