with additions throughout the early 1940s, from London station no 60
Small ring-bound folder with faint titling to spine. 22 × 16cm, 333pp with additions + lxiv (index)
This is the station handbook for No 60 station (somewhere in London) which covers the daily workings of the London Fire Brigade. The first section deals with personnel, including training, uniforms, pay, pensions, drills etc and the second section is material, with chapters on stations, motor appliance, ladders, clothing, alarms, hoses, hydrants and so on. The title page states this edition is revised to 1st June 1938, and a station officer has amended it throughout with marginal annotations and there are additional sheets bound with updates dating from the early 1940s.
Good condition for age. The pages are a little edgeworn and tanned but securely bound in. The folder has some light wear and grubbying but is also in good order.
