A rare first edition from the Royal Navy Handbooks series, concerning torpedo boats and the firing and mechanisms of torpedoes. The book is illustrated throughout with photographs and technical diagrams including four fold-out diagrams, two of which are ship plans. The book includes details on the use of torpedoes, the Whitehead torpedo, The Spar, Brennan and other types, torpedo nets, net cutters, passive obstructions, submarine mines, mine destroying, etc etc

Condition

A rare book but a poor copy. The cloth binding is in poor shape with stains, fading, mottling, scuffs etc, but the contents are in good readable condition. There is a little staining to the pages' bottom edge but all illustrations are present and the main body of text in is good order.
