Second edition, hardback in dustwrapper. 25 × 19cm, 388pp
Moore and Wilkins' thorough description of the Moon's surface, divided into 29 sections and each section starting with a segment from Wilkins' map. There are at least 90,000 formations shown and sections devoted to the polar and libration areas. This second edition was updated by Patrick Moore after Professor Wilkins' death in 1960 and covers such developments as the observation of an outbreak in the lunar crater Alphonsus and the information from the flights of the Russian lunar probes.
The book itself is in very good condition with a little foxing to the pages' top edge. The dustwrapper is quite heavily chipped and creased to all edges but has not been price-clipped.
