This copy has been signed and inscribed by one of the authors, Raymond Casas, to Bob Large, an RAF pilot from the Second World War. Ronald Geoffrey Large, known as Bob, began the war in 616 squadron flying Spitfires over Northern France, before moving to 161 squadron (the moonlight squadron) flying Lysanders in and out of France delivering and picking up agents in remote fields at night. Raymond Casas was a French resistance fighter who served with the Communists in Blois.
This book recounts the struggle of the French Resistance in the Loir-et-Cher district during the German Occupation during the Second World War. The first 39 pages are black and white photographs, some quite graphic, the main body of text is the history drawn from memoirs, testimonials and official documents.
This copy is in very good condition, but with some light creasing to the spine.
