A Gross of Pyjamas
First UK edition of 7½ Cents, the basis of The Pajama Game
First edition, first printing hardback in dustwrapper. 19 × 12.5cm, 224pp.
This is the first British edition of Bissell's 7½ Cents (first published a year earlier in America) and is the basis of the Broadway musical The Pajama Game, which follows the problems of Sidney Sorokin from Chicago, recently hired as a labor superintendent at the Sleep Tite pajama factory, as the union stages a slowdown over its demand for a 7½ cents per hour wage increase.
Quite a rare first edition and in good condition. The pages are foxed to the edges throughout but the binding is sound. The dustwrapper is faded to the spine and a little chipped to the joints but has not been price-clipped and is now within a protective sleeve.
Please note: Due to the recent price rise from USPS, we will be putting our postage rates to USA up for which we apologise but have no choice.
