Bessie Marchant's stirring story of a young British girl who does her bit for King and Country by becoming a Voluntary Aid Detachment nurse. The novel is one of the few to include the failed Dardanelles Campaign and to give some detail of the Balkan background.


Fair, a reading copy. The cloth is rubbed and bumped and there is a slight lean to the spine. The pages are lightly foxed throughout. All plates are present, but one s detached. Previous owner's inscription (from 1917) to ffep.
