First paperback issue as a Rider pocket edition
Paperback, (first issue as a Rider pocket edition). 19.5 × 13cm, 438pp.
Eliphas Levi's first published treatise on ritual magic. The first half of the book deal with the principles and theories that underline magical work, covering the subject from the Qabalistic Hermetic and Christian points of view. In the second part, instructions are clearly given for the preparation of the instruments of the art and of their ceremonial employment in the rites governing necromancy, spells and divination.
There is light wear to the covers and some tanning to the pages but this copy is in otherwise very good condition.
