A Dictionary of London
Being Notes Topographical and Historical Relating to the Streets and Principal Buildings in the City of London
First edition, hardback with gilt titling to spine, and printed titling to upper board. 25.5 × 16cm, xxiv , 641pp, with wallet at back containing three maps.
A fascinating alphabetical dictionary of London listing the buildings and streets (some of which no longer exist), with locations and brief historical notes. The book is illustrated with three fold out maps to the rear and four bound within the book.
Good condition but with some wear. The cloth rubbed and a little faded to the spine, and there is a small nick in the cloth at the front joint. Internally, there is some tanning to the pages but the binding is sound and all maps present. The loose maps at the rear are browned to the folds and with a few small closed tears. A rare title.
