Lewis Carroll's Photographs of Nude Children
from the library of Professor Morton N Cohen
First edition, hardback bound in tan cloth with printed titling to upper board. 26 × 18cm, 30pp.
This copy comes from Professor Morton Cohen's London library and, though unsigned, loosely inserted is his invitation to the opening of a Lewis Carroll exhibition in 1975.
This is Professor Cohen's study of Lewis Carroll and his interest in photography, particularly nude children, discussing both the Victorian view of children and Dodgson's (ie Carroll's) relationship with them. The book is illustrated with four full page colour plates. Morton Cohen was the pre-eminent Lewis Carroll scholar.
There is some light marking to the cloth covers but this is otherwise in very good condition.
