Author Douglas Goldring's writings on Ireland after he moved to Dublin during the Great War. As well as his observations on the Irish people and their relationship with the English, he also witnessed the funeral of Irish Republican activist Thomas Ashe. Other chapters are Belfast, Londonderry, Galway, Cork, Limerick, and the future of Sinn Fein.
The book is in good condition, with heavy mottling to the rear board but internally the pages are clean (if tanned) and the binding is holding. The scarce dustwrapper is a little chipped to the spine ends and corners but is now within a protective sleeve.
