George MacDonald and his Wife
Greville MacDonald's biography of his father
First edition hardback, bound in the original blue cloth with gilt titling to spine and upper board. 25.5 × 16cm, 575pp.
A rare posthumous biography of the Scottish writer George MacDonald and his wife by their son Greville. It is an intimate and detailed book describing the life, friends, work and writings of MacDonald, and is illustrated with photographs.
A rather poor copy. The blue cloth is rubbed with both joints heavily frayed (the rear joint is open). There are ex-library labels to the front pastedown but that is the extent of its ex-library-ness. The pages are a little tanned and the binding pulled in places but otherwise this is a working copy of a scarce title.
