An early medical romance from Norah C James, a prolific writer of romances and dramas whose first book, Sleeveless Errand (1929) was ruled obscene at the Bow Street Police Court with a (then) convincing description of suicide.
This book is part of a collection from the library of Alice Thomas Ellis, the author, who was fiction editor at Duckworth, the publishing house run by her husband Colin Haycraft. (Provenance: Trevanion & Dean)
A fair copy only. The cloth binding is heavily stained to the spine and rubbed / marked to the boards. The contents however are in good condition with clean pages and secure binding.
