István Szegedi Szüts (1893–1959) was a Hungarian painter and illustrator. He served in the Great War, and this graphic novel is his powerful account of his experiences. The images are in simple brush pen and ink and form a dramatic narrative that portrays the tragedy of wartime life on the battlefield as well as on the home front.
