Historical Notices of Chelsea, Kensington, Fulham, and Hammersmith
With Some Particulars of Old Families. Also an Account of Their Antiquities and Present State
First edition, hardback bound in the original green cloth with gilt titling to spine and upper board. 25.5 × 16cm, 140pp.
Isabella Burt's potted histories of the London districts of Chelsea, Kensington, Fulham, and Hammersmith, each chapter with a full page illustration. The book describes notable houses past residents, and landmarks. The appendices list Bishops and vicars for the districts.
Quite a rare London book, but this one only in fair condition. The green cloth has been attacked by damp to the lower edge and is bumped to the bottom of the rear board. Some speckles of white paint to the cloth. The inner binding is holding but is pulled, with the hinges starting. The main body of text is in good readable condition, and all the plates are present.
