This copy has a gift inscription to the ffep, which has been additionally signed by Harry Plunket Greene and the British composer C Armstrong Gibbs.

This is Irish baritone Harry Plunket Greene's treatise on the interpretation in song, which he describes as "the highest branch of the singer's art". Chapters include: Equipment, main rules, classification of songs, song cycles, and the singing of folk songs etc etc. Illustrate throughout with bars of music.

Condition

Fair condition only. The blue cloth boards are heavily rubbed and frayed to the spine ends and corners. The inner binding is a little weak though still holding. Occasional pencil annotation to margins. However, quite a rare title to find signed, particularly by Cecil Armstrong Gibbs as well.
