The Climbs of Norman-Neruda
Reading copy of the climbs of Victorian mountaineer Louis Norman-Neruda
First edition, hardback bound in the original red cloth with gilt titling to spine and upper board. 22.5 × 14.5cm, xii, 335pp + ads.
A book detailing the mountaineering exploits of Louis Norman-Neruda, a leading Victorian mountaineer. He died on his last climb in 1898 and this is recounted by his wife, the editor.
A poor but readable copy. The red cloth is bumped with a sticker neatly taken from the front board. The front hinge is cracked and the endpaper, title, frontis, introduction and contents are very nearly detached. The rest of the binding is strained but holding. All plates are present according to the plate index.
