Richard Hillary details his experiences as a fighter pilot in the Second World War, in which he was shot down, leading to months in hospital as part of Archibald McIndoe's 'Guinea Pig Club', undergoing pioneering plastic surgery to rebuild his face and hands.

Also included is a first edition of Lovat Dickson's biography of Richard Hillary (Macmillan, 1950)


Both books are in similar condition. The books are in good strong readable condition with clean pages and secure bindings. The dustwrappers are a little creased with edgewear and both have small areas of loss to the spine ends.
