How to be Happy in Berlin
1929, a rare guide to nightlife and travel in interwar Berlin
First edition, hardback bound in the original yellow cloth boards. Printed titling to spine. 19 × 12.5cm, 204pp + map.
A fascinating guide to inter-war life in Berlin of the late 1920s, and before the rise of Nazism. The author describes travelling hints, where to stay, out and about, places of interest, cafes and restaurants, theatres, night-life, sport etc etc. He also addresses where to find nudity in bars, gangsters, German cuisine, and war guilt. A rare title.
This copy is in decent condition. The boards are dulled and the titling is faded to the spine. Light foxing to the page edges and a little tanning to the text but otherwise the book is in sound shape. The map is in very good condition.
