An early detective novel from French author Eugene Chavette. A "locked-room" mystery, with a disappearing couple and a blood stained hand-print on the wall. The police believe the husband murdered the wife and then fled, but there's no body...
A good copy. It is ex University of Keele library with a label to the front pastedown and a bar code sticker to the ffep, and a small embossed mark to the title page. The cloth is a little faded to the spine and rubbed to the joints and edges but sound. The endpapers are new, the main body of text in good clean condition with secure binding.
