Bulletin de la Societe D'Apiculture de la Gironde
The complete issues for 1877, French bee-keeping journal
Eleven issues (the whole of 1877, with the first volume being Nos 1 and 2), first editions. Card covers. 22.5 × 14.5cm, 180pp in total. French text.
A rare set of the eleven issues for 1877 of the Bulletin de la Societe D'Apiculture de la Gironde, a French bee-keeping society in the Bordeaux area. The covers state this is the first year, and the first issue is numbers one and two. They contains a few small articles on bee-keeping and apiary though I haven't opened them all up as some are uncut. The first issue lists the society members, the rest have reports of the society, letters, articles, etc.
These scarce pamphlets are in fair condition. All the covers are torn to the edges, some loose at the spine or quite heavily foxed and marked. One issue (No 4) has been torn open roughly resulting in slight loss of text to the top corner of one page and loss without text to a few other pages. Some have the stamp on when they were sent from France (presumably to England). On the whole, they are worn and battered but appear complete and difficult to find in any state.
