Limited to 600 copies, this is a facsimile copy of the Kilmarnock Complete Edition of Burn's Poems and Songs. The books are signed by James McKie, Kilmarnock-based publisher and collector of Burns material who lived during the 19th century. He gathered a large collection of manuscripts, books, paintings and Burnsiana and was the main fundraiser for the Kilmarnock Burns Monument in Kay Park. Each book carries the bookplate of J A McHardy with shelf reference.
A good set. Volume 1 is in fair condition only with the front board nearly detached and heavy marking to the boards. All volumes have wear to the paper spines, and some degree of marking and quite heavy rubbing to the paper covered boards. The contents of volumes 2, 3 and 4 are in good plus condition with secure binding and clean pages. Quite a scarce set in its entirety.
