A classic crime thriller from Patricia Wentworth. Sally's step-uncle visits her in a small English town bringing a red lacquer case which contains the formula for a secret and deadly war gas... it is stolen, the uncle goes missing and Sally is abducted, enter Major Bill Armitage to the rescue.


A reading copy only. The cloth is scruffy, faded and frayed, the front hinge worn and residue of a sticker to the front pastedown. However, the book remains readable.
