Souvenir Album of the Great West
c1890, with 96 superb views of America
Oblong hardback with gilt titling to upper board and black printed design, bound at spine with tassled cord. 24.5 × 16cm, unpaginated (25pp).
A delightful book of high quality pictures of the Great West of America, 25 pages containing 96 illustrations of places starting with Colorado and Denver, and travelling through the landscape of the Cimarron, the Grand River, the Upper Twin Lake, Utah, Idaho, Yellowstone, Columbia River, Tacoma, Texas, Old and New Mexico, Rio Grande, California, Pasadena, birds-eye views of San Diego, San Bernadino, and Santa Barbara from the Mesa etc etc. It is believed this was printed by one of the railway companies operating along this route and was published as souvenir of travel.
Very good condition. There is some foxing and browning to the endpapers but the boards are in great shape and the image pages are excellent.
