A novel set in a penal colony, where Sender takes the degenerate, vicious and dangerous convicts with their hatreds and lusts and introduces a beautful and untouched heroine, releasing the sensual greed and desire for beauty of the wretched people (from the introduction).

The book is in very good condition, with some spotted foxing to the page edges and a slight lean to the spine. The main body of text is in good, clean condition and the inner binding is secure. The dustwrapper is clean but tanned a little to the spine and back and browned along the top edge. It is now within a protective sleeve and it has not been price-clipped.
