Ramon Sender's narrative of the Spanish Civil War based on what he had witnessed. He begins by describing the uneasy atmosphere in Madrid in May 1937 and soon moves on to the explosive beginnings of the Civil War, how it was conquered in Madrid but lived on in many parts of Spain and the crushing attacks by German planes on the Republicans. Illustrated with photographs.


The book is in very good condition, with some spotted foxing to the page edges. The main body of text is in good, clean condition and the inner binding is secure. The dustwrapper is a little faded to the spine and has been price-clipped but remains attractive and is now within a protective sleeve.
