A collection of fairy and folk tales from the world retold by Augusta De Wit, a Dutch author, the book is illustrated with thirty beautiful colour plates by R Schiener. There are thirty stories and introducion entitled "hoe dertig sprookjes bij een Veerman kwamen" in which De Wit eplains how she came to write them. The stories include Ali Baba (en de Veertig Roovers), Prins Onverwacht, Jantje Gelukkig, and Het Tooverpaard (The Enchated Horse?).
An attractive copy. The cloth binding is a little marked, the corners bumped and the untrimmed page edges are browned. The main body of text is in good clean condition, with a little tanning. The inner binding is secure. All thirty plates and tissue guards are present. The book is free from inscription.
