Printing Details

First edition, hardback bound in the original blue cloth with gilt titling to front and spine. 20 × 14.5cm, 64pp.

Signed and dedicated by Eleanor Farjeon to the ffep, "Alice Bates with best wishes from Eleanor Farjeon, Nov 17th, 1916"

A collection of Eleanor Farjeon's whimsical verse that first appeared in Punch magazine. All are about London: Kingsway, Blackfriars, Battersea, Haymarket, London Wall, Waterloo, Limehouse etc and is illustrated with a colour frontispiece and black and white pen and inks by Macdonald Gill.

Condition

A good copy. The blue cloth is a little rubbed and bumped and the pages are foxed to the prelims, with lesser spotted foxing throughout. There is a 6.5cm tear to the dedication poem from the outer edge in but this does not affect text. Quite a scarce Farjeon title to find signed.
