Printing Details

All five books are the first printings, and hardbacks in dustwrapper.

1. The Emissary, G.D.Birla, Gandhi and Independence. Collins Harvill, London, 1986. First printing, hardback in dustwrapper. Very good condition with a small amount of loss to the wrapper at the head of the spine. A study of their friendship and partnership of Gandhi and Birla from their first meeting in 1915 to Gandhi's assassination.

2. Coastwise Lights. Collins Harvill, London, 1988. First printing, hardback in dustwrapper. Very good condition. The second volume of Alan Ross's autobiography which deals with his postwar life as cricket correspondent, publisher, man of letters and racehorse owner.

3. After Pusan. Harvill, London, 1995. First printing, hardback in dustwrapper. Very good condition. "While travelling in South Korea almost ten years ago, Alan Ross discovered a culture previously known to him only through the accounts of others. As a result, the voice he believed had deserted him returned."

4. Winter Sea. Harvill, London, 1997. First printing, hardback in dustwrapper. Very good condition. Ross' fourth volume of autobiography is an intriguing mix of memoir, poetry, and travel writing.

5. Reflections on Blue Water. Harvill, London, 1999. First printing, hardback in dustwrapper. Very good condition. The fifth book, part memoir, part travel journal, by Alan Ross. It is based on his long acquaintance with the islands in the Gulf of Naples.
